Celebrating 75 Years of
American Youth Hostels

On November 20,2009, HI-USA welcomed an illustrious roster of guests to A Travel Revolution Started Here, an event marking 75 years of hostels in the United States. The anniversary reception was held at the Old South Meeting House, a historic Boston landmark. Guest speakers Tony Wheeler, the co-founder of Lonely Planet Publications, and City Councilor Mike Ross described hostel travel as a force for world change that enriches the lives of individual travelers and communities.
